It’s Important to be yourself! It helps you stand out from the competition and stops you from comparing yourself to others when you are just being you.
Only you can be you, but sometimes we struggle with our differences, don’t we!?
Our differences can be difficult, but your difference is your destiny and your secret recipe!
Think about chocolate chip cookies for a minute. There are multiple brands of chocolate chips cookies on the shelf at the grocery store right? Let’s focus on two brands, Chips Ahoy and Mrs. Fields.
You will not find a Chips Ahoy Cookie trying to be like a Mrs. Fields Cookie will you? And, you most certainly won’t find Mrs. Fields trying to figure out what Chips Ahoy is doing with their cookie recipe either.
Why? Because each one has their own unique recipe and if one them tried to become like the other, there will be no space on the shelf for them.
This goes the same for you!! You have your own special unique recipe. God gave you a unique set of gifts, talents, abilities and personality that no one else on this earth has for you to be you.

Too many times we are trying to copy, steal or figure out someone else’s recipe instead of owning and cultivating our own unique secret recipe.

In order for you to have a space on the shelf of your DESTINY, you need to own and embrace the recipe that is already in you. Your destiny is your highest purpose and calling.
God gave you your unique recipe to stand out and be yourself and achieve your destiny. You just need to be yourself and stop comparing your gifts, talents and abilities with others.
You are different. Your difference is your unique recipe, helps you stand out and leads you to your destiny. Cultivate that unique recipe that is already inside of you.
There is plenty of room and already is a space for on that “shelf of destiny” and the only way for you to find that space is to be you.
If you don’t embrace your different unique recipe and just be yourself, the more difficult it will be for you to get the success in life that you long for.

Yes being different is painful, but your difference is your destiny. It can be difficult to stand out, it’s just plain hard sometimes to be who God called you to be.
Sometimes, people want you to “tone it down” so you can fit into their limited idea of who you are supposed to be.
However when you focus on your own unique recipe and use the gifts God gave you, you will operate in your calling and amazing things happen.
You need to keep the edges of your differences sharp. Don’t sand them down to fit into someone else’s box they created for you.
What compromises have you been making lately to fit into someone else’s box?
Not everyone is going to embrace your difference, your unique recipe, but if you embrace who you really are, you will BE who you were designed to be and walk in your destiny. You can be yourself and find success.
Too often, we think we have to compromise who we are in order to open the door to destiny.
Your difference, your unique recipe, is the KEY to opening the door of your destiny and success.
Only you can be yourself and unlock the door to your destiny and your success.
How to own your difference and unique recipe?
- Admit you are different and embrace it. Only you can be you!
- Don’t compare or copy someone else’s recipe
- Hang out with people who encourage and embrace your difference
- Be salt and light.
I am sure you can remember Jesus’ sermon on the mount calling people to be the salt and light. He said we’re the salt of the earth and we need to preserve it. Shine light in the dark places. Light cannot shine in light. It only shines in dark places so don’t be afraid to go places.
Those that change the world, step into their destiny and success are those that keep the edges of their differences sharp.
