But what I do know is that it is so freeing when you are able to understand your money story, where it came from. And then ask yourself if that belief in story is serving you, because most of the time it isn’t. And once you understand your money story, it’s easier to shift those limiting beliefs and create a story that empowers you creating a shift in that money, belief and pattern not only glorifies God in the process, but you’re creating a huge impact on the world.

And I know we all want to do that we want to make impact and income. And with income comes impact. We need an abundant amount of faith filled women with an abundant amount of money, mindset and wealth that will use that to make an impact in this world. Welcome, Cassie. I’m so excited to have you on the show. Thanks, Kristin. I’m really looking forward to it. Tell us a little bit about your journey. You like to call it your beautiful God’s story and how you started in pre med ended up graduating with a totally different degree. How you had your whole life planned out, and how God flipped that plan around and how he led you to doing what you’re doing today.

Yeah, absolutely. I know a lot of ladies who are going to be attracted to this podcast probably have similar stories in how you know, we are so good to get our stories written. And then God laughs and says, Oh, hold on, I’ve got something much better. And so I was raised in a medical Family Medical family was just what you did. You just went to college and you got your medical degree and you went, and you know, that’s what you did. And my, he’s my husband, now my boyfriend at the time said, you know, you’re spending more time working on the waiting room than you are worrying about, like your career in the, you know, pre med, right? That’s like, Yeah, that’s true. So went from pre med to interior design, graduated with interior design degree. And that was it. That was my big plan, forever plan.

And about 15 years, multiple stores, you know, that was the career. And God said, No, he said, I’ve got something else for you. And I said, What, as we were prone to do, and I resisted it for a while and finally gave in. And just in the last three years, it’s just been amazing just to see how faithful he has been to call me into something I never even knew he was a career. And I’m still old enough that the online world was new to me.  So I’m stepping into online coaching and helping other women coach with online businesses has really been incredible.

Yes, and I think that a lot of listeners are going to be able to relate to that. Because even with myself, I didn’t know something like this existed a year, a year and a half ago, we were just taught to go to school, get good grades, so you can get a good job and pay the bills. And we weren’t really taught that we have a unique set of gifts and talents and passions that God gave us. And we were created to do something that he specifically created us to do, where we’re going to find enjoyment and fulfillment. Yes, absolutely.

So Cassie, I know you have a heart to inspire believers to do business differently. I would love for you to share the message the Lord has given you I’m building business together as the body of Christ. Yeah, absolutely. So I’m from my world in brick and mortar, I had the opportunity to manage and own a couple of small stores and employees and all of that. And I thought if he would ask me, I would have said, I was very good at working in community. And when the Lord called me out of that, I looked back, and I thought I was really good at creating jobs, and telling people what to do, and creating more work for more humans than to keep up with. But I was actually really bad at partnering with others and growing businesses together. And so through this online world, and through reaching just, I mean, I don’t know about you, but there’s so many things online that I didn’t even know existed, let alone how to do that, right?

Like, the tech side of things just blows my mind. So when the Lord called me to start Christian Business Builders, the networking community, there were so many skill sets that I really had to either hire out or learn. And the Lord did such an amazing work to show how, as the body as believers, we are supposed to meet each other, right? We’re not supposed to be a one woman Island, we’re not supposed to build these businesses, on our backs, by ourselves, doing all the things, and just through this last couple of years, and meeting other women like yourself, and just I mean, there’s people that can do anything out there. And they do it so much better than I do. And they do it so much quicker than I do. And I often say do more of what you do best, and then bless out the rest. Because it is a blessing to them, you know, the tech girls and the ladies that get on here and can record podcasts, but we have to take me forever.

So we need each other. And as believers, I think we have such a responsibility to look for other believers in business to partner alongside, right, and it goes against really everything that the world teaches us. Everything. I mean, we’re told, you know, you learn it, you do it, you figure it out, you you know, you, you you you got this with the body, we need each other, you know, the I can’t be a nose and the nose isn’t supposed to be an eye and you know, we need the body.

Amen to that. And that Christian woman, Business Builders resource of that group you put together is absolutely amazing. And I know we’re gonna give our listeners a chance to connect with you there. The next question I have is a lot of faithful Christian women find it hard to charge for their services, their courses and their programs. And we want to add massive value and serve our clients. And sometimes I know for me, I tend to feel a little bit guilty. Like we should be providing that service at a discount or even offering it for free. So how can we change our mindset regarding this? So we do charge enough for services, what we’re worth in order to make impact and income. Oh, man, I could talk on this one for hours. So I think there’s such a lot

I think that the devil tells us as believers that we are somehow doing people a favor by not charging enough. Whereas as believers, if anybody knows what our true transformation takes, it comes at a cost, right? I mean, it costs Christ His life to give us transformation to give us life change. And so why would we expect to be able to transform the lives of others and really help others? If it doesn’t cost something. And I know in my own life, when I’ve looked back, and the Lord really had to do a work on that through me, and when it came to hiring people in my to grow my business, you know, a lot of times you’re not making income yet, or you’re just starting out. And we think, Oh, I can’t hire that out, I can’t pay somebody to do that.

And he really had to show me that, where our time and our money goes, that’s where our focus, that’s where change, that’s where the transformation flows. And so as a coach, on the other side of that, I’ve given away services, not for free, I don’t know, if I’ve ever coached for free, I probably helped out for free, but for a lower price. And those people don’t show up, they don’t get the change, because they’re not invested at that level. And as believers, you know, we have, we’re called to give up a lot in order to follow the Lord, we’re told, you know, to give up our life in order to have that change, and we don’t need to charge a life’s worth. But we need to charge enough for that person on the other side to really get the change, right to get that transformation.

People don’t value what they can get for free. Absolutely. And a lot of times for myself, the level that I invest in is the level I show up at. And so by charging more, you’re actually calling out those people who are ready to put up their hand and say, I’m ready to make that change. I’m committed to doing the work, I’m going to do what it takes to see that result. Right. And I truly have a heart for Christian women to rise up and make an abundant amount of income. Because with that income, they’re going to bless more, they’re going to give more. And the women listening to this and the women in your group are those that want to be world changers, and it takes income to do that. Chris, and the devil does not want women of God with income because women with faith with income behind them, they’re unstoppable.

I mean, you think about the powerful women that you know, you were raised in, and then you’ve seen in your church that have just influenced you. And you think what if they had the power that comes from finances, you know, to have their voice multiplied. So I really do I mean, I’ve just seen the God calling up amazing women in the online space and saying there’s going to be a movement, there’s going to be a voice that’s going to come up.

So yes, I’m getting goosebumps just listening to that. Cassie, you’re a business owner, a mom, a wife, and you homeschool your children? And what are some time management tips that you could give our listeners that you have incorporated into your life to try to find harmony? Because there’s never going to be balance? How do you find that harmony. So being a very typical multitasker, do all the things get it all done. I’ve actually really the Lord’s really worked on me to do lists, but do it really well. So whenever I’m doing, I have time blocked my day. So I get up early. And I have about a two two and a half hour slot in the mornings where that I’m working.

That’s what I’m doing. I do my prayer time and I work and then we go into homeschool. And for that time, I’m just homeschooling I’m just teaching. And then the afternoons we have rest time. And that diamond, you know, kids are still young enough for some of that. And so we have, that’s where to take care of the home time. And then we have family time in the evenings. And so it’s showing up as the best version of you fully in each role that you’re serving. And that was hard because I wanted to try to do all the things all the time, did all not a whole lot of them very well. So I would recommend for anybody out there, especially all these moms now that are in homeschooling for the first time or don’t really mean to be homeschooling or homeschooling, give yourself grace and show up as the best you as you can in that moment and just trust the Lord to do the rest. And that is a great tip.

What was your biggest struggle in starting your own business? And how did you overcome it? I think my biggest struggle was truly accepting the value that just go into the online space. in your own community. You’re known for something you’re known for, you know, the job you do for what you serve for how you serve, which myself was an interior designer. And then going online, it was almost like a whole new identity is almost stepping into the person that the Lord has called you to be before you’re there. And that could be a little bit overwhelming.

It can be a little bit scary to step into a role that you know that the Lord is calling you into but there isn’t a lot of proof or a lot of support or even belief in yourself maybe that that’s possible. So I think just taking that first step in faith. And I always say that, you know, as believers, we want the whole picture, we want to be able to see the completed picture, we want to see the trophy on the wall, the ribbon around our neck. And we know God doesn’t work that way.  He wants us to take the next step. And then the next step, and then the next step. So I think just taking that first step of faith and stepping out into a world that, you know, he’s calling you into, even though you can’t see it possible yet. Mm hmm.

That’s good. He’s definitely the lamp at our feet. I like that analogy that each step you take. He’s gonna right there. Right there. So looking back on your journey, if you could change just one thing, what would that be? Oh, that’s a good question. If I could change one thing, I think looking back, I would have wished that I would have told myself to have the confidence to show up fully at the beginning.

I know I spent which I think, you know, I think that’s how the Lord works through us. But I know I spent probably at least six to nine months just searching you know, I’m, I think a lot of us do, oh, write a blog, I’ll start a blog Wait, once are off a lot. It’s supposed to work to make, like nickels and oh, okay, I’m gonna do it online. You know, just so much searching, instead of fully stepping into the calling that I knew the Lord was leading me to, I felt like I had to prove myself first, or I had to do something worthwhile to be able to fulfill that role. So I think just fully leaning on the Lord.

And I always tell my coaching clients, I said, you can borrow my confidence, I can see what’s possible for you. And I think just having you know, what, a bar the Lord’s confidence a little earlier and seeing what was possible and stepped into that sooner.
